Whether you’re a total beginner or looking to improve your game, the opening of the Norwich Family Golf Centre marks the beginning of an exciting era.
Offering outstanding facilities that are setting a new standard, the state-of-the-art complex on the outskirts of Norwich opened just before Christmas. As well as a 28-bay driving range, incorporating heated teaching and fitting bays, it’s home to Norfolk’s largest golf shop, run by PGA professional Peter Field, and offers lessons. Plus there’s a café bar showing sport on the big screen and conference facilities.
Easy to get to, it’s about 10 minutes drive from Norwich city centre, conveniently located just off the A47, with the Easton nine-hole course situated right next door and the Bawburgh 18-hole course just a short drive away. It’s a must-visit for golf enthusiasts of all abilities.
It has two private and fully equipped teaching bays, with a choice of four qualified teaching professionals. In addition, the centre is proud to be sponsoring Norfolk’s number one golfer and Euro Tour player Andrew Marshall, who will be holding golf clinics throughout the year.
For the more advanced golfer the centre is the perfect place to practice or warm up. Many of the covered bays have Powertees and the outfield has a variety of targets and golf course obstacles, giving players the opportunity to practice with all types of clubs and styles of swing. Plus a chipping and putting area, which is one of the largest practice areas in the county.
The 3,000sq ft Peter Field golf shop offers an unrivalled range of products, including clubs, clothing, tees and trolleys, and specialist services including bespoke club fitting and motorised trolley servicing and maintenance. As well as stocking top quality goods by well-known brands including Callaway, Mizuno, Ping, TaylorMade, Wilson, Benross, Powakaddy, Motocaddy, Titleist, Sun Mountain, Ecco, Adidas, Skycaddie
and Bushnell, the shop offers the very best in customer service. All the staff are passionate players of the sport and are single-figure golfers who have had extensive training both on the product ranges in stock and in customer fitting. There has been investment in the very latest technology to help players enhance their game, using two state-of-the-art launch monitors, FlightScope and GC2, which is endorsed by Callaway, TaylorMade, Rory Mcilroy and Lee Westwood.
Norwich Family Golf Centre also has a fantastic bar and cafeteria. With views across the driving range, and live sport on the big screen, it’s the perfect place for a pitstop before, after and in between golf. Or why not combine work and play? The centre has a fully-equipped conference room, which can seat up to 50, with packages tailor-made to the client’s requirements, including food, drink - and maybe even hitting a few balls.
